Bengkang roti paling mudah disediakan. Ini resepi saya.
6 slices of white bread (I prefer old-style bread - cut into 1 cm thickness)
1/4 cup butter
1 cup cream or evaporated milk
2 cups milk
5 tablespoon soft brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1/2 cup raisins or chopped dates
pinch of salt
Spread bread with butter and cut into 2 cm cubes. Place bread in greased casserole dish. Sprinkle with raisins or dates.
Beat together eggs, essence and sugar. Stir in cream and milk. Pour over bread mixture. Let the mixture stand for 30 minutes. Sprinkle with brown sugar and dots of butter. Bake in preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes at 180C.
Serve pudding with vanilla ice-cream or custard sauce.
